Tarona (b. 1985, Curaçao) is a film director & visual artist whose work focuses on time, culture and on new ways of being and seeing. She examines how identity, memory and knowledge are maintained and shared — working across two registers; guided as much by intuition as she is by rigorous research, with feeling as key part of her method. Currently, she is doing research for her project Carnival, working with archives as an artist-in-resident with Media Institute Sound & Vision and expanding her music focused photographic project Sonic Visions. Additionally, she runs Acts Of Service; an initiative to support others through the power of connectivity, critical thinking, knowledge and dreaming.
